Some background about Cambridge 5K...

When we first started our series, we considered calling it the “Craft Race Series” instead of Cambridge 5K. In fact, if you visit “www.craftraceseries.com” you’ll see that it still points to C5K.
But as much as we LOVED craft beer, we felt that it was better to create a competitive race series that happened to serve great beer rather than a beer festival with a road race 'tacked-on'. We take pride in the fact that all of our races are sanctioned by USA Track & Field and our courses are all unique and exciting to run! [speaking of exciting, have you check-out our new CRAICFEST course?]
Another thing that runners are usually surprised to hear about is the fact that C5K purchases all of the beer that we serve at our events (which is very rare for road races). We do this for two reasons: 1. We respect how hard it is to make awesome beer and we want to support Boston’s best brewers. 2. We want to serve the absolute best (and freshest) beer that's available, NOT a second-tier beer that's donated for free. [pictured above: Notch serving the incredibly fresh “Notch Valley Malt BSA” brewed from grains grown in Western MA @ Yulefest 2013].
So what will you see at this year's Cambridge 5K race series? 1. Great brewers continuing to pour amazing beer [pictured above: Jeff from Slumbrew pouring Slumbrew Happy Sol (fermented with the juice from over 1000 blood oranges!) @ Freedom Run 2013] 2. We’re adding a new gluten-free option: Downeast Cider, 3. Re-vamped logisitics and a NEW express beer line system during peak times. We think this year's series will be our best ever. Hope you can run with us!
